Default Error Codes P0321 and P0322

Need some help with the eror codes P0321 and P0322. Once the car is warmed up the rpm suddenly drops to 0 and then comes back up once in a while. The EPC and the check engine light comes on after that. Sometime it shuts off if I am stopped at a light. Once the EPC light comes on, if I shutoff the car it takes 3-4 seconds of cranking before it starts up. Went to autozone and these codes came up:
P0118 - coolant temp. sensor
P0321 - Engine speed input out of range
P0322 - No voltage from Engine speed Input

I've changed the CTS but it is still happening. Could it be the Engine speed sensor or the Cam position sensor??

Default give me a few specifics about your car...

Year, engine, etc... and I'll look it up in Bentley for you.

Will the Zone clear codes for you too?

Default Here is what Bentley says...

P0321 : Bentley says you have to check the "Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor -G28-". There are resistance values to be checked, etc... Bottom line, if it doesn't seem to work, it has to be replaced.

P0322 : Same thing, it says to check the G28 Sensor.

I guess both DTC's are related to that one sensor.

I hope this info helped you, good luck.

Default Problem fixed!!

The Problem was with the Engine Speed Sensor. Replaced it and the problem went away. The sensor had some oil on it and I wonder if cleaning it would've resovled the problem. Replaced it anyway since I had bought the new one already.
Thanks for your help.

Default P0322 Code but where is the sensor?

Was driving my A4 B6 2.0 non turbo car today. Went through a roundabout and the car shuddered and the EPC light came on. Made it home ok. Turned it off and came back to start it later and it would not start. The engine turned over with the starter but will not start. Pulled a P0322 code, and realised it is the Crankshaft Position/Engine Speed Sensor. Problem I have is there are not many threads on the 2.0 non turbo, so I cant figure out where it is located to change it. Also, to replace it, will CPS from other models fit the 2.0, as even these seem hard to locate. Thanks in advance.

Once the Audi had cooled down, I tried to start it again and it started up as normal, with no EPC light on. I gather the CPS is on the way out, so still need the info please.

Not many 2.0's on this forum, but would guess it is the same place as the 1.8. See link below.
