Default A4 Maintenance

Hey Guys,

I had my 2009 A4 for a little while now but its time for maintenance. Audi wanted to charge me 400 bucks for the 15k minor service so I plan to go to an independent shop instead.

Im afraid of not getting program updates to my car or because it is the CVT model, no one will know how to change the CVT fluid. What do you guys do?

Buy Audicare? Not sure if you can still buy it after a year but they might allow it if before the 15K service. Assuming you purchased the car as new.

I didn't think Audi was offering Audicare any longer? After 2007 I thought it stopped.

Nope. Still available. I purchased mine a year after I purchased my '09 A4 just before the 15K mile service.

wasn't it free back then? it's still available at additional cost. you can purchase it anytime but it makes sense to do it before the 15k service.

i am not in us.
did 30K maintenance just some time ago. situation is very similar for basic things dealer wants quite a money. when i look on a prices in a shop for the parts (filters, oil) and prices for the same materials from my previous 15K maintenance, i was a bit surprised. some materials are 2.3 times more expensive than in a shop.
i bough all required filters and oil for my A4 and came for maintenance. guess what, they still counted roughly 400 USD, even with my materials, offering some works which are not mandatory for 30K.
there are 5 or 6 official dealer in a city, next time i'll check price with several dealers, before going for maintenance.

re: oil is about twice more expensive when you buy it from the dealer.

good luck.

+1.

If you want dealer service Audicare is a must. If you were shocked by the bill for 15K service, just wait until you see the price for the 35K service.
