When I looked at the price of a new 2013 S5 6MT 3.0T vs an older B8 S5 6MT 4.2, and test drove examples of the S4 and S5 with options *I* was interested in, I chose the B8 S5 6MT 4.2.

When I factored in the mod list of what *I* wanted to do plus the purchase price of the vehicles, it was actually less expensive overall to buy the 4.2 and have better performance. I knew the mods money I wasn't going to get back out of either option regardless, and the 4.2 S5 included the price of installing a supercharger....

Remember the 2013 is the first model year that has the steer by wire technology from Audi and many folks on the forums are having issues with that system. Personally I do not buy first model year vehicles due to issues like this.
