APR EMCS or Giac Chip for a 2001 A6 2.7T???
Apr has the different programs and Giac has the optional Tip chip which I want and I beleive if I get it from AWE or PES, one of them gives a socket option. I do not want an extra ECU. I am looking for the fastest chip, though.

APr has a good deal on the EMCS. Free Options.
You can have stock, chipped and race programs I believe.
Or you can go with GIAC stage II chip, with the "race" Tip program. I think the Giac Tip program is the only one that actually speeds up the shifts between gears. A6 with the GIAC ECU and Tip chip has run 14.5 and might be able to get to 14.3-14.4 with better launch. Giac chip are socketed so that they can be removed fairly easy. I still like the idea of getting an extra ECU to keep the stock ECu from being tampered with. ALso when you change the Tip chip the tabs on the Tip computer box snap off showing its been worked on.
I do not think you can run the giac tip chip with another makers ECU chip. Not sure though. Again GIAC Tip program is the only one that actually speeds up shifts.
Both are nice, with the APR having the additional feature of using the cruise to switch programs.
