Default Locked out

Had a freak out moment the other day. I was coming back from the grocery store with my daughter in her car seat in the back. I pulled in my driveway and left the car running then went to the trunk, popped it to grab the groceries and closed it (not sure if I hit the lock button, but I must have). Either way, this locked all 4 doors and the trunk and rendered both my key fob and the spare key fob useless. None of the buttons on either fob did anything. Eventually I remembered there was a physical key in the fob and was able to get in that way.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Never happened to me, but I leave an extra fob in here for emergencies. Saved my *** once when a valet lost my fob in Vegas.

This is why I have myAudi application installed on my phone. I deem myAudi app shall be able to unlock car no matter what as a meaning of a true backup - if cell phone coverage is present.

Thank you, just added the app. Does the unlock feature stick around when the trial ends.

(also, I thought my daughter locked the door too, I asked her to reach for the lock and she couldn't reach it)

Yes. I am off the Audi subscription more than a year now, but lock/unlock function works fine as well as quite a few other things - including oil level, mileage before service, etc.

P.S. When I go to Wilder Lands with no cell service I'll take a second key and ask my travel companion to carry it for me.
