I'm looking at two A6 with the 2.7t,( i totaled my last car it was a mercedes 300sdl which had a turbo as well but it was a diese) a 00 and a 01, reading some of the blogs im wondering if they worked out the kinks with the engine by 01? Also only 18 so what would the maintence cost be like on it?

I didn't know there was much difference between the 00 and 01. The most important point is to respect the turbos; be easy on boost until the oil is warm and use good oil. My 2000 has 110k+ and has been a good engine so far.

MY 2001. 2001 APB engine, as on car title, is most of times not manufactured in 2001 but in 2000.

Tyrus - Like stated above; turbos, TB & F hose(any for that matter), tires(awd), DV's(if/when you upgrade),coils ,CV axles(maybe),& make sure you use synthetic oil ( I use mobil 1 0w40). Purchasing these parts; all depends on previous owner and mileage. Cost; depends on wether your a DIY, have a handy mechanic available, or going to dealer. Hopefully this helps!
